Library Corner:
"Knowledge is Our Right"
The slogan adopted and being developed by the Children's Public Library, to be a source of knowledge for all children in the Sultanate of Oman of all ages, nationalities, and cultures.
The library provides its visitors and beneficiaries with interest through floors and spaces where knowledge meets play, and research by raising questions and scientific curiosity.
Spaces:
The high-ceilinged spaces in the Children's Public Library add to the experience of the visitor and the reader in particular; when reading places open up to give him a place that takes him to new worlds.
The child has the opportunity to read on the floor with support linings or read on the spaces furnished with colorful wooden tables and chairs.
All this in addition to the space in the programs and events room, the children's play area, the drawing and coloring corner, the innovation corner, and the electronic information resource hall.
Story-telling Zones
Grandmothers' arms turn to other worlds of reading and narration of tales and stories in the children's library, to take children through the library spaces to amazement, warmth, and flight.
Storytellers read stories in these spaces to youngsters of different ages and languages in rings. After that, the tales go to the minds and mouths of the young, to tell them themselves, accordingly the story line does not break.
Drawing and Colouring Area
Young children in this space move to their imaginations with their own hands, by drawing all their imaginations that translate their own art.
This is a free space for drawing and coloring.
Children's Play Area
The children's play area is designed to meet the child's motor need everywhere, and to find a space of movement that inspires him to search and learn in his own way beside the sounds of knowledge spread in the library.
Within this zone, young children are offered supportive activities that help them develop their motor skills through puzzles, building construction, building games...etc.
Programme Room
Within this room, the library celebrates the establishment of various workshops and programs, as it allows the workshop members freedom of movement and learning, not to mention the light space that motivates open-mindedness and overlooks the Qurum Nature Reserve.
This space accommodates 30 seats, with an area of 60 square meters. The shape and arrangement of the furniture content can be controlled in proportion to the content of the presented workshop.
Computer Lab
The Children's Public Library works to provide knowledge in all possible ways. The library has a computer lab used by young children and their parents to search and use digital resources:
Such as e-books, readable audiobooks, watching interactive educational visual presentations and playing educational games.
All of these devices are connected to the Internet.
The library also has two interactive screens to display video clips, interactive stories, and previously documented library workshops.
Innovation Corner
The innovation corner on the second floor of the Children's Public Library building complements the Library's role in spreading the joy of learning through the knowledge that it instills in children through smart technologies that enable young people to experience and discover the worlds of modern technology and make the world a safe and spacious place to live.
The corner, which is considered an educational incubator, promotes the dissemination of a culture of digital knowledge, raises the ability of young people to deal with new technologies, and makes them real digital citizens.
The corner provides interactive learning tools with modern and advanced technologies based on smart ICT solutions and encourages young people to think about inventions by conducting different experiments with the available information technologies.
Braille Corner
The Children's Public Library is committed to providing sources of knowledge for all groups, including blind children, through books translated into Braille and the latest devices for Braille sensors.
